John Coughlan is a councillor for the Town of Riverview and was appointed as a member of the Codiac Regional Policing Authority (CRPA) in 2016. He is the longest serving member of the board. John had a 38-year career working in the transportation sector at both CN and Via Rail.

He has strong roots in Riverview and is a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. John brings a commitment to grow his community through sound economic growth while ensuring residents receive access to quality services and programs they have come to expect.

When he is not serving residents of Riverview, John enjoys spending time in the community with his two daughters and four grandsons. He enjoys hiking (especially at Mill Creek Nature Park), music, and taking part in the many festivals and events that make Riverview a great place to live for residents of all ages.
